Welcome to planDisney, Lucie.
Mickey and his pals are so excited to welcome you to The Most Magical Place on Earth. There's so much EARidescent excitement to be experienced and enjoyed for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Lucie, did you know that your trip will coincide with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival? Every year, EPCOT hosts a number of fantastic festivals. However, for many people, this is their favorite one. The stunning topiary displays of Disney characters and beautiful gardens in bloom are such treat for the eyes. And if, like Anton Ego from Ratatouille, you don't just like food, you LOVE it, then the fabulous food around World Showcase will make your taste buds happy. To steal a quote from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: "Yes! One bite and all your dreams will come true."
When traveling to Walt Disney World, I absolutely adore the convenience of using MagicBands. These handy devices allow you to:
- Unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door.
- Enter both Theme and Water Parks (with valid admission, of course).
- Connect any Disney PhotoPass images to your account.
- Charge delicious food and special souvenir purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room (this is only available during your hotel stay)
Lucie, I know you'd like to purchase
MagicBands for your upcoming trip, however, Guests traveling from the UK cannot currently order them pre-arrival. That's why you're having trouble on the website. However, I do have good news for you: Once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, you'll be able to purchase your MagicBands. There are many fun and exciting options to choose from. There are a variety of MagicBands available in your Resort, at the Theme Parks, and at Disney Springs. Once you purchase them, you will have to link your new MagicBands to your account. To do that, once you've purchased your MagicBands, open your My Disney Experience account, click on "My MagicBands and Cards" and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There should be a "Link" button under the "Link a MagicBand" section. The rest is fairly straightforward.
Lucie, have you heard about the upcoming
MagicBand+? Not only will they have the basic capabilities as the current MagicBand, but they'll possess color-changing lights and haptic vibrations that will allow Guests to "feel the magic." But there's more: MagicBand+ will also have gesture recognition capabilities that enable certain movements to create magical experiences. The release date has yet to be announced. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear news soon. Therefore, I'd encourage you to keep an eye out for MagicBand+ as your holiday approaches.
Disney Parks Blog is a good place to frequent!
I hope that information is helpful, Lucie. As we say in Liverpool, "I hope you have a belter of a holiday!"
ChEARS,
Mike
