Howdy, Nicole! Welcome to planDisney.
I see that you have an upcoming holiday to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Late October - early November is a great time to visit. You'll be able to enjoy some of the Halloween festivities, the weather is comfortable, and the crowd levels are generally lower. Also, you'll get to experience
The Word's Most Magical Celebration!
If you're thinking about purchasing
MagicBands for your trip then you're making a wise choice. These handy-dandy devices allow you to unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door, enter both Theme and Water Parks (with valid admission, of course), connect any Disney PhotoPass images to your account, and charge delicious food and special souvenir purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room.
Unfortunately, Nicole, Guests traveling from the UK cannot currently order MagicBands pre-arrival. However, once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, you'll be able to purchase your MagicBands from a variety of places, including your Disney Resort, any of the Theme Parks, or
Disney Springs. Once you purchase them, you will have to link your new MagicBands to your account. To do that, once you've purchased your MagicBands, open your
My Disney Experience account, click on "My MagicBands and Cards" and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There should be a "Link" button under the "Link a MagicBand" section. The rest is fairly straightforward.
Having said all that, did you know that
MagicBand+ launches this summer? These upgraded wristbands will enable you to interact with Disney stories in all-new ways through the magic of technology. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a media event at Walt Disney World and I was able to experience the new MagicBand+. It possesses color-changing lights and haptic vibrations which allow Guests to "feel the magic." It also has gesture recognition capabilities that enable certain movements to create magical experiences. I really enjoyed using it and I know you will too. So keep an eye out for the release of MagicBand+ and make sure you experience it during your trip.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Nicole.
