    If I purchase a Magic Band at the parks will it be ready to use right then or will it need to be charged or something?

I'm so excited to hear you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth tomorrow! As a MagicBand+ enthusiast and collector, I'm happy to help you prepare to purchase, set up, and use your new band.

    Cassie, will this be your first MagicBand+!? If so, prepare to be immersed in the magic of the Disney Parks in a brand new way! I love checking out the assortment of fun, super-themed MagicBands in the theme parks during my Walt Disney World Resort vacations. However, if you do choose to purchase a band in the theme parks, I recommend taking it home (or to your Disney Resort hotel) and fully charging it overnight before using it for the first time. Your MagicBand+ will come with a USB charging cord, so all you'll need to provide is a USB adapter for charging. An overnight charge will ensure that the battery is fully powered up so that you can maximize the pixie dust during use the next day! While the classic MagicBand features will work without battery power (e.g., tapping into the turnstiles at a theme park entrance, redeeming Lightning Lane entry selections, linking Disney PhotoPass media to your My Disney Experience account), the lights and haptic features require the battery to be fully charged to operate.

    Before you head to the theme parks sporting your new MagicBand+, you'll want to ensure you've paired it to your mobile device and linked it to your My Disney Experience account, Cassie. The Walt Disney World Resort website features a great informational video on setting up your MagicBand+ before its first use, so be sure to check it out!
