Hi Robert!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you stopped by with a great question about
Lightning Lane passes. As a mom of three, I always find myself purchasing Lightning Lane passes for our days in the parks to spend less time waiting in attraction queues and more time making magical memories together!
Robert, Lightning Lane passes are available to purchase in your
My Disney Experience Mobile App. If you are staying at a
hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection, you can purchase your Lightning Lane passes 7 days before your check-in date for your entire length of stay. All other Guests can purchase passes 3 days before visiting the parks. Before your purchase window opens, you'll want to make sure that everyone in your travel party is connected on your
Family and Friends List and has valid theme park admission linked to their account. If you're hoping to take advantage of the earlier booking window for resort Guests, everyone in your party must be registered to a resort hotel room.
There are three different types of Lightning Lane passes that you'll want to be familiar with before your booking window opens. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is our go-to when planning our park days. This pass will allow you to reserve return times for three attractions in a single park when your booking window opens. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom Park, and EPCOT, you can select one attraction from Group 1 and two from Group 2. As you redeem Lightning Lane entries during your park visit, you'll be able to book additional return times on a "use one, get one" basis. Additionally, if you plan to
park hop, redeeming your first Lightning Lane return time will give you the ability to select your additional Lightning Lane entries at other parks.
You can also purchase up to two Lightning Lane Single Passes per day from the same park or different parks than a Multi Pass. Lastly, Lightning Lane Premier Pass is also available and allows you to ride each attraction with a Lightning Lane entrance in your selected park once during your day, without needing to pre-arrange return times.
Robert, whether you're ready to enter the Grid on
TRON Lightcycle/Run or search for the elusive Yeti on
Expedition Everest, I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy making many magical memories during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Remember, you've got a friend in us here at planDisney, so please stop by again with any other questions you have!
To Infinity and Beyond!
Kristi
