Hiya Brandi,
Welcome to planDisney! I’ve never been a fan of waiting in long queues, and now that I have two Mouseketeers under 3, I actively avoid it. Having
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a lifesaver, and I cannot imagine my Walt Disney World visits without it. We are able to accomplish so much by spending less time in line, and nothing beats limiting toddler meltdowns because we are stuck in line.
Another great thing is that when you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can use it for park hopping without having to purchase it for multiple parks. When you buy a Multi Pass for that day, you will get to decide which park you want to purchase it for (it doesn’t have to be the one you are planning to start your day at), but you will have to book all three initial lightning lanes for that park. Once you redeem your first multi pass experience, the system will recognize your annual pass and allow you to make another selection at a different park for no additional cost.
So, let’s say you plan to visit
EPCOT first to enjoy the outdoor kitchens and ride
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure before heading off to
Hollywood Studios for the rest of your day. You can purchase a Multi Pass for EPCOT and book Remy’s and two other EPCOT experiences, like Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth. Once you redeem that first experience, you can book one for Hollywood Studios (subject to availability). Another option would be to purchase a Multi Pass for Hollywood Studios, book all three of your lightning lane experiences for that park, and choose to use standby queues at EPCOT. I did this for my last trip since I knew we would only ride 1 to 2 attractions at our first park. So we just got to the first theme park early, did the few attractions on our must-do list, and then headed to our second park before our afternoon lightning lane.
I hope this helped, Brandi. If you have any more questions, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
