Greetings, Kristain, and welcome to planDisney! The Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a great way to add some pixie dust to your visit – I like to say it helps fit more into each day. Let's go over some of the options for your upcoming trip.
If you'd like to use the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass for only a portion of your multi-day Disneyland Resort ticket, here's what you'll want to do: Once you scan into your starting park on the day of your visit, purchase the multi pass from the
Disneyland mobile app. Just keep in mind that the pass is subject to availability – there's a chance it could sell out, especially if you're visiting during peak seasons or holidays. I can say, though, that in my many visits to Disneyland, I haven't had a problem purchasing it when I arrived in the morning. Still, it's something to keep in mind.
You can also
purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass before you visit, but it would be for all the days of your multi-day ticket (so in your case, three days). This is a good option if you want the peace of mind of having the multi pass secured. Of course, you'll also benefit from enjoying quicker access to popular attractions all three days.
Besides attractions, a great perk of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass is unlimited downloads of
Disney PhotoPass digital photos. There are PhotoPass photographers at magical spots throughout the Resort, so take advantage of this to build up your photo gallery with lots of memories of your visits.
Now, when it comes to making the most of Lightning Lane passes, I have a few more tips:
- Link each person's ticket in your party to your account in the mobile app. That way, you can book Lightning Lane selections for everyone, rather than each person booking on their own.
- If you make a selection for an arrival time that's later in the day, you could try to modify it to see if an earlier time becomes available.
- Some of the most popular attractions are more likely to have later return windows than others, especially as the day progresses. I recommend prioritizing Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland, and Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! and Toy Story Midway Mania in California Adventure.
- Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers are not included in the multi pass at this time. If you'd like to use the Lightning Lane entrance for either of these attractions, you'd need to purchase a single pass. This can be done in the mobile app after you've entered the park.
