If I purchase ILL for Tron, do I still wait in line for the ride?

Hey there Jody and welcome back to planDisney!

For so many seekers of Disney thrills, the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run was something that really brought a burst of speed for an attraction that sent riders racing through its twists and turns in a short amount of time. With its popularity, the irony is that waiting in a lengthy line for this experience after snagging a spot in the Virtual Queue just isn't quite quick enough for guests eager to enter the Grid, so Individual Lightning Lane Entry could be a great way to zoom past and board sooner. I recently experienced TRON Lightcycle / Run this month and am thrilled to be able to give you the inside scoop for what you can expect the next time you ride:

Guests who do choose to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane entry will still need to wait in a designated queue that eventually merges with everyone else, as you'll be required to pass through the specialized locker system for this attraction prior to boarding the ride vehicles. In my experience this was still a much shorter wait that didn't take more than a few minutes compared to the folks who said they had been waiting outside for over an hour!

Based on my personal experience, here are some more of my best TRON tips:

    • The on-ride photo and video cameras are located right at the end of the initial launch before you shoot up into the canopy outside, so be prepared and keep an eye out for that epic shot!
    • Don't be afraid to ask the Cast Members loading the Lightcycle ride vehicles if you can wait for the front seat; there's nothing like the downward dives into darkness in the second half of the ride experience.

Be sure to check out the planDisney Pocket Guide to TRON Lightcycle / Run, as one of the attractions that our planDisney Panelists got the chance to test out and discuss their experiences before it opened last year. In the meantime, come back again to planDisney for any other tips or advice ahead of your next Disney adventures!

Here's hoping you have a speedy experience getting to your Lightcycle!
