How can I purchase Genie Plus service/upgrade my current tickets to have Genie Plus?

    Hiya, Lauren!

Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy to have you hEAR. Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort planning question our way!

The brand new Disney Genie+ add-on, which can access attraction Lightning Lanes and includes digital download access to all Disney PhotoPass photos captured on the same day of purchase, can currently be included in your Disney days in two ways:

~The first is at the time of purchase of your Disneyland Resort Theme Park Admission Tickets. This option will be presented on the same screen as the option to pre-purchase Theme Park Parking, on a separate step within the same transaction as your main tickets. There will not be a separate purchase receipt nor an extra ticket to upload to your My Disneyland Account as your admission tickets will be coded as including Genie+.

~The second way to access the phenomenal cosmic powers of Disney Genie+ (in the itty bitty living space of your smartphone) is to add this add-on after you've already entered the parks each day. To do this you'll open your Disneyland Mobile App, click the gray + button in the bottom center, press 'View My Genie Day and Tip Board', and from the new screen select "Purchase for Today."

While it sounds like a lot of work to add this purchase the day of, it's actually not that bad as everyone must be inside Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park before they can make their Lightning Lane selections. Not only will you not be that far behind those who already have Genie+ with their ticket, I actually prefer method two because then your crew can kind of pick and choose who wants to add G+ to which days of your visit vs. everyone having this handy helper on all of your tickets the whole time.

I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Lauren! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Panel Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
