If I purchase genie plus and do lighting lines would I be able to do rider switch and is rider switch available with genie plus

Hi there, Ariela, and welcome to planDisney!

We're so happy that you came to us with your question. Your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is almost here! I hope that you're having fun planning your trip and daydreaming of the magical time you'll have!

Genie+ is a service that may be purchased either when you buy your tickets or on the day of your visit after scanning into the Parks. It grants you access to book Lightning Lanes for many attractions throughout the Disneyland Resort and allows you to skip the standby queues. By contrast, Rider Switch is a free service that splits your group and allows a Guest to wait with someone in your party who is unable to ride the attraction and requires supervision. Once the first group has finished with the attraction, the waiting Guest may then experience the attraction without waiting in the standby queue.

You may absolutely use Rider Switch concurrently with Genie+ and Lightning Lanes! This will simply mean that, instead of waiting in the standby queue, the first party will be able to utilize the Lightning Lane and bypass the standby queue altogether. Please note that ALL members of your party who wish to ride the attraction will need to have a valid Lightning Lane reservation in order to skip the standby queue. This applies to Individual Lightning Lanes as well. When your group arrives at the attraction, simply inform the greeting Cast Member that you would like to utilize Rider Switch.

I love visiting the Disneyland Resort in the Spring! Please note that on April 18, Disneyland is hosting Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite and will be closing early to the general public. If you aren't attending the after hours event, I'd recommend purchasing a Park Hopper ticket so you can go over to Disney California Adventure and continue the fun. They'll be hosting the Food & Wine Festival over there, so you'll find plenty of delectable dishes for your taste buds to test!

Ariela, I hope that I was able to clear things up for you. If you have any further questions or need elaboration, please feel free to write back to me or any of my pals at planDisney!

    Have a Magical Day!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
