Hey there Claire! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Disney’s Genie Service is fairly new and I'm enjoying learning the ins and outs. I'm happy to share my experience so far. Disney’s Genie Service has three distinct parts that I will explain below.
Disney Genie Service
This service is a complimentary part of the
My Disney Experience app that suggests attractions and dining to help you make the most of your Theme Park Visit. When you first open the Genie in your app, you will answer a few short questions about your preferences. The responses are used to recommend an ideal itinerary for your Theme Park day. You can use the recommendations or swap them out if you don’t like them. With the Genie service, Guests utilize the standard queue line.
Genie+
Genie+ is a paid option that allows you to request an arrival window for certain attractions throughout the Theme Parks. Guests access their selected attractions through the Lightning Lane queue and typically have shorter wait times than the standard queue lines. You do not have to pay an additional fee for the attractions included in the Genie+ option.
Individual Lightning Lane
As I like to say,
Individual Lightning Lanes are basically Genie+ for the biggest, baddest thrill attractions. These include attractions like
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and
Avatar Flight of Passage. Individual Lightning Lanes allow you to reserve an arrival window to experience your attraction and access the attraction through the Lightning Lane queue. Guests can purchase two Individual Lightning Lane entrances per park day.
Walt Disney World Resorts Collection hotel guests can purchase the first Individual Lightning Lane at 7:00 a.m. while those staying off property can purchase once the theme park opens. You also can purchase Individual Lightning Lanes with or without purchasing Genie+.
I recommend using Genie+ AND Individual Lightning Lane entrances to minimize your wait times and maximize your attraction experiences! I hope this helps, Claire! If you have any more questions while planning, stop back by and ask me.
Until next time,
PG
