Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration! Each of the four theme parks are participating, so no matter where you decide to spend your day, you will be a part of the magic! Make sure to keep an eye out for the golden sculptures that are part of the
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection! My children made their own scavenger hunt looking for them throughout the parks and taking pictures with each one they found.
In addition to all of the festivities, Disney also introduced a new service that helps Guests bypass the standby queues and lower their wait time on attractions.
Disney Genie+ is an add-on service that any Guest can purchase that will give you access to select attractions at each of the four theme parks. This service can be purchased at the same time as your tickets, or you can modify the tickets you already bought.
Lorin, in your case, you should be able to modify your tickets to add on Disney Genie+. First, you will log on to your
My Disney Experience Account on the
Walt Disney World website. Once here, click on "My Plans" and then select "Park Tickets". If your tickets are not linked to your account, you will need to do so first. Once your tickets are visible, there should be an option to modify your existing tickets. Once you select "Modify", you then should be able to add on Disney Genie+. (Note: When adding on Genie+ prior to your visit, you will need to purchase it for your entire length of stay.) If you are having issues using the website, you can always
contact a Cast Member at the Existing Ticket line and they will be more than happy to assist.
Disney Genie+ can always be purchased on a day-to-day basis. Instead of buying the service beforehand for your entire stay, you can purchase the morning of your park day to use it on that specific day. My family just returned from a 7-day trip and we decided to only purchase Genie+ on three of our park days. Based on our plans, we were not planning on being in the parks long enough on select days to warrant spending the extra money for the service. To purchase the day of, access your
My Disney Experience App on your mobile device and tap on "My Genie Day". Once here, scroll down to the purple bar and tap on "Get Disney Genie+ for Today". Follow the prompts to complete the purchase.
