I am sorry to say you will not be issued a refund for your Genie+ purchase if you do not use it. My suggestion is to really think how you plan to use it each day prior to purchase. I know with my family, there are days we really want to hit the parks, getting on as many attractions as possible. On those days, we purchase Genie+. On other days, we know that we are going to enjoy leisurely meals in the parks, and plan mid-day pool breaks back at our resort. That is the time to forego Genie+ and have a more relaxed day.
Since you will be purchasing
Genie+ one day at a time, you have the option each day! You may even choose to add on the service once you are in the parks and see how the day is going.
Don't forget about individual Lightning Lane! Getting this service is separate from Genie+ and is available for the top tier attractions...for example
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. (By the way, my absolute favorite ride ever!) Individual Lightning Lanes may be purchased with or without having Genie+.
If you choose not to purchase Genie+ you will have the option of the stand-by line for most attractions. Check the wait times on the
My Disney Experience app. This is super handy! I like early mornings and late evenings in the parks for shorter lines.
