    When do you purchase your genie pass?

    Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

    Genie+ is available for purchase just after midnight on the day of your visit, via your My Disney Experience App on your smartphone. The opening screen on that app has recently been reorganized so that you will see the option to purchase it right away. 

    A few other general rules in case you were not aware.

    • While you can buy Genie+ just after midnight, you do have to wait until 7 am to start selecting attractions.
    • Anyone can make Genie+ Lightning Lane selections starting at 7 am that day. You don't have to be a Disney Resort hotel guest. 
    • You cannot pre-purchase Genie+. It is all done the day of your visit.
    • The real difference afforded Disney Resort Hotel guests in this area is that they can start making Individual Lightning Lane selections also starting at 7 am. Other guests can start making those at the posted park opening time.

    Once you make that selection, you can start reserving your attractions! 

    BONUS TIP #1
    These Lightning Lanes do not mean that you can only ride an attraction if you have Genie+ or an Individual Lightning Lane reservation. There are still traditional lines at all attractions.

    BONUS TIP #2
    If you visit the web page for Genie+, you can see what attractions are in the Genie+ Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lane programs, so you can plan out your days. These lists do change over time, so make sure to check close to your vacation dates!
