If I purchase Genie+ for myself and my husband, can we both use our personal Disneyland app/account to book Lightning Lanes for the both of us? Just planning ahead in case one of us has our phone die at some point during the day! Thanks!

Hello and welcome back to planDisney, Lindsay. We're so glad you're back to share your question. I love having the phenomenal cosmic power of Disney Genie+ Service during my visits to the Disneyland Resort and I'm delighted to help with your question.

You and your husband can absolutely both use your Disneyland app to summon Genie and make Lightning Lane selections for one another. In order to do this, you will just need to make sure that your tickets are linked in the app. This is easily done by tapping the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner and then tapping the "Tickets and Passes" tile. Next tap the "+" in the top right corner and then "Link Tickets & Passes." You can then use any of the features to link your tickets in each of your apps (I find the "Camera" feature is the easiest by scanning the ticket barcode). That's all there is to it. On the day of your visit, you'll visit the "Tip Board" in the app and can make your first Lightning Lane selection as soon as you've been scanned in and entered the park.

As far as phone battery is concerned, I've definitely been in that spot where my phone is in desperate need of a charge. I try to remember to bring a portable charger with me when I need an extra boost. If you're in a pinch, there are also portable chargers for sale throughout the resort. You can find these kiosks by searching "Portable Phone Charging Systems Kiosks" in the Disneyland app. Fun fact - after your initial phone charger purchase from one of these kiosks, you can make unlimited swaps for a fully charged replacement. I have one of these and it's super convenient not to have to worry about my phone running out of power.

I see that you're planning to visit during the holiday season. This is one of my favorite times to visit the Disneyland Resort with all of the festive decorations, seasonal food offerings and extra magic sprinkled around the resort. There are a couple of must-do attractions that I always encourage Guests to experience during this special time. During the holiday season, "it's a small world" and Haunted Mansion receive a holiday makeover to get you in the holiday spirit. Every year there's a new gingerbread creation in the ballroom scene of the Haunted Mansion. It's made from real gingerbread that you can smell while passing through this room and I always look forward to seeing the new creation.

Speaking of gingerbread, I also recommend swinging by the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to see their seasonal gingerbread creation. If looking at (and smelling) all this gingerbread makes you hungry (like me), I highly recommend indulging in a Mickey Mouse Gingerbread cookie. These are iconic and a must-try.

I hope this has been helpful, Lindsay. I'm very excited about your visit during the holiday season and could go on and on about all of the wonderful things to do (and eat) during your visit. If you have other questions as you continue to plan, please come back to visit us - even feel free to write me directly for any recommendations

    Happy planning!
