Salaam and good evening, Barbara! Thank you for visiting us at planDisney. The Cave of Wonders has a special lamp waiting just for you.
Your friend Genie, with his phenomenal cosmic powers, will be ready to grant you wishes once you arrive at the parks. Keep your mobile phone handy, and once you have entered, click My Genie Day, go to My Day, and you’ll see a link “Get
Disney Genie+ for Today.” This will let you purchase the option for any tickets linked to your account. After you have added Genie+ to your day, you can go to the Tip Board and make your first Lightning Lane selection!
For future reference, you can add
Disney Genie+ to your tickets at time of purchase. If you purchase it with your ticket, you’re purchasing it for every day of your multi-day ticket. If you wait to purchase it at the parks, you can purchase it each individual day.
Let me share some tips about using Genie+:
1. You can hold more than one Lightning Lane selection at a time. After you have made one
Lightning Lane selection, you can make your next one after that first one has been redeemed, or 120 minutes after booking it, whichever comes first. (I like to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to make my next selection!)
2. You can only use one Lightning Lane per attraction per day. But you can use the standby queue if you want to experience the attraction again.
3. There are three popular attractions with
Individual Lightning Lanes, but you can only purchase two Individual Lightning Lanes per day of your visit, so plan accordingly.
4. A huge perk is that Genie+ gives you complimentary access to
Disney PhotoPass. My family loves taking funny, goofy pictures together, and the attraction photos are epic too! You’ll be able to download all of these at no additional charge. Extra tip, ask the photographers about Magic Shots – most locations have them. They can make characters or other special effects magically appear in your photos!
I really love using Genie+, Barbara – it’s a whole new world, being able to experience so many attractions in a day without waiting in long queues. Don’t worry, the evil Jafar is still buried in the warm sands of the Arabian desert and won’t be getting in the way of you and your family having an adventurous magic carpet ride!
As a trusted advisor to the royal Sultan, I wish you a magical journey.
