    James from PA Asked

Can I purchase Genie when we check in to our resort???

Hi there James, and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for sending your question our way. With the Genie out of the lamp, there's a whole new world of planning out there. Well, you ain't never had a friend like me, and I'm ready to help you master this new feature. It looks like your magic carpet ride is just about to begin, so let's get going!

If you already purchased your theme park tickets, but are interested in adding Genie+, you might be able to click a blue "Modify" or "Change" button next to your tickets in your My Disney Experience account to upgrade them before leaving home, but I recommend that you buy Genie+ one day at a time, on each day of your trip. Buying one day at a time when you're at Walt Disney World is easy and could save you money, as you might not want or need it for your entire stay. Here's what you'll do.

On the day you'd like to purchase Genie+, open the My Disney Experience Mobile App and click the three little horizontal lines on the home page to bring up the welcome screen. Next, select the magic lamp icon that says "My Day." Look for a purple bar that says "Get Genie+ Service," choose your party members, and checkout. You can do this starting at midnight on the day you'd like to buy Genie+, but since you can't make your first Lightning Lane reservation until 7 AM, I suggest doing it during breakfast or before heading out for the day.

I hope this helps, James. Best wishes for a memorable trip! Don't miss the holiday festivities and 50th-anniversary celebration offerings that will be available during your stay. Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and we'll see ya real soon!
