Ahoy, Connie!
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm happy to help!
What a wonderful grandmother you are, to think ahead and do something special to make a Disney Cruise Line vacation extra magical for your grandchildren. They are blessed to have you!
Either option you've mentioned would be a wonderful way to surprise them on their cruise!
In-Room Gifts are fun, because guests are greeted with a special treat or stateroom celebration that you've personally picked out for them. On the other hand, if you think they would enjoy shopping for a special souvenir from the onboard gift shops, a
Disney Gift Card fits the bill.
My parents surprised us on our fist Disney Cruise with an In-Room gift, and it meant so much to us that they'd thought of us and put time and effort into choosing our gift. As an adult, that meant more to me and created a more vivid memory than a gift card. That being said, my kids would be excited to get a gift card to spend on themselves!
It's really up to what you think your grandkids would enjoy the most. You could always send them an In-Room gift, and include gift cards in small amounts ($5-10) for them to get themselves a treat.
I hope this helps - I'm sorry I don't have a clear-cut suggestion between the two. You're so sweet to do this for them, and I'm sure they would enjoy either option!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a magical day! - Diane W.
