Do I have to purchase Disneyland tickets on a specific date I’m planning on going or tickets are good for the year? I’ve been hearing about different information when it comes to buying tickets and need clarification pls. Thank you

Well hello, Nicole. Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for bringing us your question. I'm thrilled that you are planning to visit the Disneyland Resort this summer. Let's get started with your question.

I'm happy to share that you can purchase tickets for the Disneyland Resort at any time as long as there are available reservations for the day(s) you plan to visit and a reservation can be made. A valid theme park ticket and reservation are required for all days you wish to visit the parks. Theme park reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance of your visit, and you can check the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to see if your desired day(s) are open. At the time of writing this, a one-day ticket purchased at the Disneyland website or through the Disneyland app is valid through December 31, 2024. Multi-day tickets purchased through the Disneyland website or through the Disneyland app are valid through January 12, 2025 and must be used within 13 days of first use. All dates are subject to change, however, there will be an expiration date within your confirmation email from your ticket purchase.

Something else to keep in mind, when your tickets expire, they will retain their original value. You then have the flexibility to apply the value of your original ticket (as long as it's not a special event ticket) towards a new ticket as long as the new ticket purchase price is equal to or greater in value than the amount paid for the original ticket.

Nicole, if you're thinking about staying on property at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you may consider a Disneyland Vacation Package. Not only will you enjoy the benefits of staying at a resort hotel, but you'll also enjoy some extra pixie dust with Magical Extra Savings and a collectible pin and lanyard for all Guests aged 3 and older on your reservation. Theme park tickets can be added to your vacation package and you are able to purchase these right now for dates in the summer. Keep in mind you will still need to make your theme park reservations (when available) in order to visit the parks.

This year is a great time to visit the Happiest Place on Earth with so many exciting things happening. The Disney100 Celebration will begin on January 27, along with the opening of the new attraction, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. I also recommend downloading the Disneyland app prior to your visit for helpful features such as linking your park tickets for entry and mobile ordering food and drink during your trip.

Nicole, I hope this has been helpful to you. If this has left you with more questions, please visit us again. We are ready to help as you continue to plan!

    Happy planning,
