Can you purchase Disneyland magic key pass at the park (if available) or do you have to purchase it online?

Hi there, Annalisa. Thanks for visiting planDisney. I'm so excited that you are hoping to become a Disneyland Magic Key holder!

While it is possible to purchase a Disneyland Magic Key at the resort ticket booths, those transactions are usually used for unique situations, like making a larger down payment, using multiple gift cards, or paying with cash. Most new Magic Key purchases can be completed online without a problem, and a Cast Member on-site might encourage you to do this rather than waiting in person. Just a note, since it was new to me - last week, I noticed that the ticket booth had been moved to the left side of the Disneyland Park main entrance.

If you are looking to turn a single or multi-day ticket into one of the available Magic Keys (currently the Inspire and Believe keys), you can usually do this on the day of your last visit to the park with that theme park ticket. I caution you to complete the upgrade at the end of the day and - like Cinderella at the ball - before the stroke of midnight, as your park reservations do not necessarily automatically transfer to the Magic Key. Upgrading in the morning may result in losing that day's park reservation. If your ticket is eligible, you can usually complete the upgrade to Magic Key in the Disneyland Mobile App! If you have any further questions about purchasing a Magic Key, you can reach out to a Cast Member at the Magic Key Holder phone line at (714) 781-7277.

Annalisa, once you become a Magic Key holder, be sure to follow the Disney Parks and Disneyland Magic Key Instagram accounts. They have all the official information on upcoming festivals, events, and seasonal offerings at the Disneyland Resort. With the Holidays beginning at the resort just last week, there is so much to be excited about. Be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for all of the fun and festive happenings at the resort.

I hope this information helps, Annalisa. If you have any other questions, please swing (like Tarzan!) back to planDisney!

    See ya real soon,
