Marilyn from FL Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

If I purchase a Disney year pass before going on our trip, will the year start on day of purchase or first day we visit the park? Thanks

    Hey Marilyn!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your great question.

If you purchase your Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass in advance of your vacation, your “year” will begin the day you activate your pass.

You must activate your pass at any Walt Disney World theme park ticket window or a Disney Springs Guest Relations location. In order to activate your pass, please take your exchange certificate and a valid photo ID.
Did you know? As soon as you link your Annual Pass to your Disney Account (automatically linked if purchased on disneyworld.com) you may begin to make FastPass+ selections if you are within the 60 day travel window for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or 30 day travel window for Guests staying off Disney property. You do not need to visit Walt Disney World Resort or wait to receive your MagicBand to make your FastPass+ choices!

Marilyn, I wish you an unforgettable, Disney-filled year! Please visit us again if you have any more questions.

    With Lots of Disney Magic,
