How do I purchase a Disney Photo Pass?

Hey Chad! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy to see you have a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth coming up in just a few weeks!

If there's one thing I love just as much as planning and experiencing the magic, it's remembering all the moments in between. There is no better way to capture those memories than with Disney PhotoPass! There are a few options that are designed to fit visits of all shapes and sizes! Let's talk through them together:

GENIE +: if you have added Genie+ to your ticket, a bonus perk (of Genie sized proportions, if you ask me!) is that you have access to unlimited digital downloads of ALL the Disney PhotoPass photos you take that day. All of them! Your work here is done because you won't need to make any additional purchases to add Disney PhotoPass to your day! If you did not originally include Genie+ in your ticket purchase, you still have the opportunity to upgrade as soon as you scan into the parks! In addition to the PhotoPass perk, you would also get access to Lightning Lanes on select attractions. Just tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar and select "View My Genie Day and Tip Board". Toggle to the "My Day" tab at the top and you will see a section highlighted in purple offering you to "Take Today to the Next Level". Tap in there and grab your magic carpet!

Disney PhotoPass+ One Day: if you are just heading into the parks for a day and would prefer not to use Genie+, this is a great option for you as you will get access to all of your PhotoPass photos for one particular day. All it takes is a few waves of your magic wand in the Disneyland Mobile App once you are in the parks! When you are reviewing your photos from the day, you should see the option to purchase PhotoPass+ One Day when you tap into "Buy My Photos". You will find your pictures by tapping the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner and selecting "Photos".

Disney PhotoPass+ One Week: this is a great option if you are planning a multi-day visit to the Disneyland Resort, but perhaps might not be upgrading to Genie+ each day. With Disney PhotoPass+ One Week, you can download photos for an entire week for one price. You can actually purchase this ahead of time through your account on the Disneyland website. I find it's easiest to search "PhotoPass" and then tap into "PhotoPass Info" along the top navigation bar to see both the Genie+ and Disney PhotoPass+ One Week options.

À La Carte Photos: you are also able to purchase photos individually through the Disneyland website at the end of your trip if there are just a few special ones you want to take with you to remember the magic.

If you are purchasing the One Day, One Week, or Genie+ option, it includes Magic Shots, character greetings, attraction ride photos, and anything else a Disney PhotoPass photographer snaps! I'm not sure if you've heard, but after a long hiatus, character greetings are full of magic once again. So get your warm hugs ready, because Mickey and Minnie are ready to welcome you with open arms!

Chad, I hope this was helpful in your planning! If you have any more questions ahead of your visit, come back to see us here at planDisney!

    Magic awaits!
