We are going to purchase discounted Disneyland tickets through work. I see that tickets now cost a different amount depending on the day. Will we have to pay extra to make a reservation for a day that costs more than the amount we paid?

    Hi Ryan!

Welcome to planDisney! It's my pleasure to help a fellow Texan today!

Oh, I love that you found a great deal on your Disneyland Resort Theme Park Admission Tickets! I like to spend my savings on bonus souvenEARs. (To get a sneak peek of what you might find when you're at Mickey's house, check out the 'Parks' tab of ShopDisney.com!)

This is a great question. Yes, there are certain theme park admission tickets where the tier of their price has to match up to or be above the tiered-level entry for the day. (Ex: a Tier 3 ticket can be used on a Tier 1, 2, or 3 day.) The good news is that these tiers and tiered pricing only applies to 1-day park tickets, so if you purchased multiple-day tickets then you are in the clEAR. If, however, you did purchase 1-day park tickets and are trying to redeem them on a day that is higher than the tier that you purchased (ex: planning to visit on a Tier 5 day with Tier 3 tickets), then yes, you will need to upgrade your tickets to match the day. To do this, you'll reach out to the helpful Ticketing Cast Members at (714) 781-4636 and pay the price difference.

A good way to check to see if your theme park admission tickets do or don't need to be upgraded is when making your Park Pass Reservations. Park Pass Reservations basically tell Mickey which park you plan on playing in on which day of your time in town. If your tickets do need to be adjusted to a different tier, you'll receive an 'error' message that notes your ticket type cannot be used on the day(s) selected.

Do note that Park Pass Reservations can only be made 120 days in advance, and usually once the very last park day of your visit is within that Park Pass Reservation Booking Calendar. What you can do in the mean time is start planning your Holiday time visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Certain attractions receive jolly makeovers, the halls and walls of the whole resort get decked in their winter best, and your favorite park pals don their winter apparel. My favorite is the Disney Festival of the Holidays, which takes over Disney California Adventure Park with performances, displays and for-purchase holiday snacks from all over the globe! Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as they'll start making more merry announcements soon. You can even follow them across all of your social media channels so you'll never miss a story!

I hope that this helped to clEAR things up a bit, Ryan! Be sure to follow the official planDisney panel Instagram account where we're sharing all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
