If we purchase the dining plan for 4, will our 11 year old be able to order off of the adult menu without paying an extra fee in the restaurants or must he order off the children's menu?

    Hi Laura!

I am a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan!  The convenience, flexibility and savings are what appeal the most to me.  I try to maximize the value as best I can buy using it on the more costly dining experiences and snacks.

At Walt Disney World, ages 10 and older is considered an adult.  This is true for purchasing park tickets as well as the Disney Dining Plan.  Your 11 year old will be considered an adult on the plan and will be given adult entitlements to use throughout your vacation.  He can order off of the adult or children's menu if he'd like, but the cost for him will be the adult pricing.  My son turned 10 last year, so we are now considered a party of 3 adults and 1 child, but it does give him more options as far as what he can order at Table-Service restaurants.

If you plan on dining at Table-Service restaurants, be sure to make advance dining reservations as popular restaurants tend to book up rather quickly.  Dining reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance of your vacation.  Stop back by if you would like any recommendations for restaurants at Walt Disney World!

    Have a magical day!
