    Can you still purchase the dining plan if you don't stay at one of the resorts

    Hi, Kristy!

    The Disney Dining Plan can only be purchased as part of a vacation package that includes room/tickets/dining. Since you are staying off property, you will not be eligible.

    Ready for the good news? You can still enjoy all the wonderful dining locations in Walt Disney World. You just need to pay out of pocket as you go. You are welcome to make your dining reservations 180 days in advance either online or by calling (407)WDW-DINE.

    While you will not need dining reservations for Quick Service locations, reservations are highly recommended for Table Service locations, and especially at those ever popular character buffets. Because everyone wants to share dinner with Mickey Mouse - what is more magical than that!

    Just a quick tip for you...Free cups of ice water are available at any counter service location, so that might be one less thing for you to stock up on in your tote bag that you take to the theme parks. I know as a mom, I carry enough of my kids' stuff around, the last thing I need is to lug a bunch of heavy water bottles!
