Hi Deborah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mine is also a military family, and I absolutely know how it goes when it comes to last-minute orders and travel. My family had a magical week planned last fall, and my husband had an unexpected military obligation pop up that had us scrambling to make it all work – which it did, thanks to a heaping dose of pixie dust!
Generally speaking, vacation packages may be rescheduled or cancelled within 30 days of your check-in date, but this is not always the case. A reservation’s terms and conditions depend on a lot of factors, so my advice is to inquire at the time of booking or, if the vacation is already booked, call Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to inquire. The Cast Member you speak with can help you understand the terms and conditions specific to your vacation package, and answer any questions you have. I have had only wonderfully supportive Cast Members when working on plans for my military family, and I hope you find the same!
Deborah, there are some really great Military
Special Offers for Walt Disney World Resort vacations, including discounts on select room reservations, tickets, and Memory Maker. I think
Memory Maker is a must-have for Walt Disney World Vacations, and especially for military families, who can look back on their vacation memories when they might be separated from a loved one. For one discounted price, your family will have access to your PhotoPass photos, on-ride photos and videos, and even Magic Shots, which add special Disney magic to your pictures.
I’m sending you pixie-dusted wishes that everything goes as planned and you are visiting Walt Disney World together with your son soon!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
