Hi there Jeanne,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! It is going to be such a pleasant surprise on your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort since you haven't been in 10 years. It will still have that same familiar Disney Magic feel, but with so many new fun things to experience!
To answer your first question, you do need both valid
theme park tickets and a
theme park reservation for each day you plan to visit the parks. If you purchased your 1-day tickets on the Disneyland Resort website within the last few months then you likely made those reservations during the purchase process.
If you'd like to check that your reservations are set, then I would recommend visiting the
My Plans hub on the Disneyland Resort website! You'll be able to see your currently set reservations on the bottom section of that page. In the event that you're not able to make it on your currently reserved date - Hakuna Matata! You can modify or cancel your existing reservation in the same place.
You'll be visiting during one of my favorite times of year - the Holiday season! I would recommend checking out the
Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog for a fun overview of all the delicious food and beverage offerings to see what your must-try items are.
Since you haven't been in 10 years, my top two recommendations would be to check out
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (make sure to prioritize a ride on
Rise of the Resistance - it's one of my favorites!) and the newly reimagined
Mickey's Toontown - specifically
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway! If you haven't already, be sure to download the
Disneyland mobile app to see and filter for all the fun around the resort that you'd like to check out.
Thanks again for your question, Jeanne! I hope you have a fantastic visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
