Hi, if I purchase a 2 day park hopper, can I upgrade to the Magic Key & still get in the park on both days, even if the 2nd day is blacked out for Magic Key holders at the time of purchasing the regular ticket? Thanks!

Howdy, Matthias! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

I'm delighted to hear that you are considering upgrading your ticket a Magic Key! You can absolutely upgrade your two-day Park Hopper ticket, but there is a certain process you should follow to make sure you can still enter the parks on those two days. First, make theme park reservations with your two-day ticket. With a Park Hopper ticket, you will make a theme park reservation for the park you want to start at each day and then at 1:00 p.m., you can hop to the other park. Then, visit the parks as you normally would with your two-day ticket. After you enter the park on the second day, but before the parks close that day, upgrade your ticket to a Magic Key in the Disneyland app

If you upgrade your ticket on the first day or before you enter the parks on the second day, any remaining theme park reservations tied to those tickets will be cancelled. And if your Magic Key is blocked out on those days, you won't be able to enter the parks. But upgrading after you are already in the parks on the second day keeps your theme park reservations intact and keeps you in the parks having fun! Keep in mind that the activation/anniversary date of your Magic Key will be retroactive to the first day that you used your two-day ticket. Then moving forward, you will still need to make theme park reservations with your Magic Key, but you will use a different calendar than those with day tickets.

I hope this makes sense. Have a great time at the Disneyland Resort!
