If I purchase Canadian Disney Gift Cards can I transfer the funds onto an American Disney eGift Card or a physical American Disney Gift Card?

    Bonjour Jamie!

Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! I was so excited to see your question in our queue as I always love to answer questions from fellow Canadians. You also picked such a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with all the unique offerings available at that time of year. I always say there is no better way to escape the Canadian cold than by going to warm and sunny Florida!

Now, let's talk about those gift cards! I love using gift cards, especially during the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, as they make staying on budget so much easier. After chatting in with a Disney Cast Member (the chat feature is, in my opinion, the best service ever), it was confirmed that you can transfer funds from your Canadian Gift Card. Much like in the parks, where the funds would be directly converted into US dollars at the previous day's conversion rate, the funds would also automatically be converted when transferred. However, this can only be done online on the Disney Gift Cards website. For this reason, I would suggest simply using the Canadian Disney Gift Cards you have purchased, as those can be used in the parks, on the Walt Disney World Resort website and even on the My Disney Experience mobile app! A great way to use your gift cards without constantly looking them up on your phone is to write the barcode number in your notes app. That way, all you will have to do is copy and paste it into the appropriate field upon checkout.

Once your Disney Gift Cards are purchased, that is when the real fun begins! One of my favourite things to do during the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is to try out different foods and look up the menus beforehand to map out my must-try's. By looking at which food options you would like to get, you will also have a better idea of how much money you expect to be spending at the festival, which is great for budgeting your stay. Personally, I would highly recommend trying the Impossible Burger Sliders over at Earth Eats. They have a slight kick to them from the wasabi, but it is very mild and so tasty! Another one of my favourite options is the Truffle Mac and Cheese from Mac and Eats. That booth had some of the best mac and cheese I have ever had! And speaking of great food options, you can also use your Disney Gift Cards while mobile ordering at some of EPCOT's food locations, including Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue and the brand new Connections Café and Eatery!

I hope this was helpful, Jamie, and that you and your Ohana will have the most magical time on your next Disney trip! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your vacation, or if you need more tasty recommendations, please don't hesitate to reach out. You and me, we're in a club now!

Have a magical day and bon appétit,
