Hi Mariana! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
Magic Key sales are currently paused, and unfortunately, we don't know when they might become available again. So, there's no way to guarantee you'll be able to purchase a Magic Key prior to your planned visit. I'm sorry if that's frustrating! Magic Keys are incredibly popular and I'm sure many Guests are eagerly awaiting the sale of them to return. As a Magic Key holder myself, I understand wanting to secure more access to the magic, fabulous
discounts, and fun perks.
I suggest following the
Disney Parks Blog, which is the official news source for the parks, so hopefully you'll be one of the first to hear the news when sales begin again. Another good blog to follow is the
Disneyland Magic Key blog, the official blog for Magic Key holders. They've announced new sales in the past. Finally, be sure your MyDisney account is updated with your current information and select to receive all communications from Disney.
Genie+ is about to become Lightning Lane Multi Pass. It will function the same under the new name. This is a great option that allows Guests to spend less time waiting in queues and more time focused on being together in the Happiest Place on Earth. We always select it as a family, and as a Magic Key holder, I need to purchase it on the day of my park visit after I've scanned into the parks. This option is currently located on the homepage of the
Disneyland mobile app toward the top. Prices are subject to change, so the price you see on the app today could be different when you scan into the park.
If you don't hold a Magic Key and instead have a standard admission ticket, however, you can pre-buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the length of your visit. Lightning Lane Multi Pass can sell out for the day, especially on popular days. If you've pre-paid for the option, this isn't something you'll need to worry about, so that's a benefit to pre-purchasing.
We've celebrated a lot of occasions, including birthdays, at Disneyland Resort. It's our destination to mark a special occasion. In fact, I celebrated my most recent birthday at the parks, and we had a fantastic time. Be sure to pick up a Complimentary Birthday Button from City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park on Buena Vista Street, so everyone knows your husband is celebrating! We also like to
book a special dining experience when we're celebrating. Dining reservations can typically be made 60 days in advance. Popular locations can fill up quickly. Finally, take lots of pictures to remember the day! Disney PhotoPass Service allows everyone to be in the photo, and it's included with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which is a great benefit.
Have a magical day!
Elizabeth
