Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Janice!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. How exciting that you have a Disney vacation using your Disney Vacation Club Membership on the horizon. Our family loves the flexible, affordable Disney vacations Membership has given us year after year. We have made so many magical memories, especially when visiting during the merriest time of the year!
Janice, it sounds like - since you have a December Use Year and will receive your Disney Vacation Club Points for 2025 on December 1, 2025 - that you
Borrowed ahead from your 2025 Vacation Points to book a November 2025 vacation. That means that your November 2025 vacation is actually taking place in your 2024 Use Year.
When you Borrow Vacation Points for a vacation and then cancel, the Borrowed Points return to the Use Year in which your vacation was scheduled to take place. This means that your Borrowed Points have to be used by the end of your 2024 Use Year, which ends on November 30th, 2025, or they will be forfeited to use at Disney. So, you would not be able to use the Vacation Points you pulled from your December 2025 Use Year for a vacation in 2026 at Disney. This is because Borrowing Points is a final transaction and can't be undone.
However, I did speak with Member Services, who let me know that if you decide to cancel your November 2025 vacation and don't think you will use them before November 30th, you have another option. You will have until October 16th (or 45 days prior to the end of your Use Year) to move those Vacation Points to
Interval International and use them for one of the hotels in the exchange. You would have two years to use those points in Interval International. However, they can't be used at Disney once you move them to Interval International.
I would recommend calling
Member Services so they can have a look at your account and plans. They would be able to guide you on the best way to maximize your Vacation Points and give you options so that you avoid forfeiting these valuable Vacation Points.
I hope this helps you, Janice! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you.
Magically Yours,
Keri
