Ahoy again, Barbara! We're sailing so frequently alongside one another we could start our own fleet! I'll give you first rights of being Commodore, if you'd like, otherwise I'll gladly accept the title and the amazing headwear that comes with it...I do look good in a hat...
Where were we? Oh yes, your question!
This question sits squarely in my "I do like being prepared for anything, but..." wheelhouse. I personally have never been stung by a jellyfish or suffered from the discomfort of sea lice at
Disney Castaway Cay. Now that I've put it in the universe, however, I'm sure it's just a matter of time... Risk assessment and tolerance being an incredibly personal thing, I'd say it all depends on your past experiences!
While I agree there are many things aboard that would be more fun and exciting to devote that money to, what one person finds necessary, the next may find superfluous. Like my position on the
Vacation Protection Plan, I'd probably place it in the category of, "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!"
If you decide to leave this off your packing list, though, my advice would be to take advantage of the freshwater showers often as you enjoy your day on Disney Castaway Cay, and to know that in an emergency, the
Health Center located at Deck 1, Forward has a Doctor and Nurse on-call 24-hours a day. That's all great peace-of-mind, but be sure to remember that shipboard medical attention is subject to fees. It's always good to check with your insurance about coverage for "medical attention outside the US!"
Well that got a bit more serious than I'd planned, but long story short, I hope it helps you chart this leg of your course, Barbara! Thank you as always for your question, and for allowing me to help you as you plan for your sailing. If you think of any others as we get through this final month before your cruise, you know where to find me here at planDisney!
Bon Voyage!
Andrew
