pros and cons on Disney Vacation Club???? We plan on going to meeting but just trying to get some info on it before we go. Thanks

    Hi Lyndi,

I am happy to share my experience with membership in Disney Vacation Club! My family has been Disney Vacation Club members for years. My husband and I decided to join when my daughter was an infant. He and I had been going to Walt Disney World for years at that point, and having our daughter made us realize that we would want to return to Walt Disney World again and again as she grew. Having a yearly allotment of Vacation Points is a reminder to my husband and I - who both work very hard at our jobs and love what we do - that as time passes, it is important to take time out and go on vacation with our family.

We are so comfortable in a Disney Vacation Club villa! We love having a kitchen and a washer and dryer inside of a one-bedroom and larger villa. We appreciate that the flexibility of Disney Vacation Club has allowed us to escape to Walt Disney World for a long weekend, or to go for a week and book a larger villa to take the grandparents with us. The possibility to vacation at any time of year has also been important as our daughter gets older and is involved in school and activities.

We enjoy taking advantage of Member Benefits, such as discounts on annual passes and special events such as the Moonlight Magic events, which are after-hours, members-only events hosted at Disney theme parks and even water parks. Please do note that Member Benefits are subject to change.

I think that your plan to take the Open House tour is a good one. This way, you will be able to meet with a Vacation Guide who can answer questions specific to your family. Before you do, I suggest that you take a look at the Disney Vacation Club Membership 101 information online.

If you do decide to join Disney Vacation Club, Lyndi, it will be truly magical the first time you hear those words, "Welcome Home!"
