What are the pros and cons for the Disney Dining Plan? Also, what are the points when using the DDP? Thanks!

    Hi Kasey,

Glad to know you are busy planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Only a month to go. I am sure you are super excited!

They Disney Dining Plans are a great way to prepay for your meals. For my family, we do not think about budgets for food and it is one less thing to worry. Instead, we keep busy thinking about all the different restaurants that we would like to experience. So many options! These options are available only when booking a Magic Your Way Vacation Package.

These plans will give you a set of meal entitlements per night of stay, for each member of your family. For example, the 2017 Disney Dining Plan, which is my favorite, gives you one Table-Service meal, one Quick-Service meal, and two Snacks. These can be redeemed from the moment you Check-In to your Resort hotel, and until midnight of the day you Check-Out. You can choose how and when to use them. Some Signature Restaurants and Dinner Shows may require two Table-Service meals, so it is best to look ahead at the different restaurants requirements and participation. Visit the Walt Disney World restaurants and reservations page.

One last tip: reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. However, many Guests change their plans at the last minute, so there is sometimes last minute availability. The My Disney Experience mobile app can help you make these reservations quickly. See you real soon!
