Hiya Michael,
Welcome to planDisney! Congratulations in advance to you and your Happily Ever After. Walt Disney World Resort is where dreams come true, so I am so excited that you will be making your girlfriend's dreams come true there. I wish you both so much magic and well-wishes as you embark on this new chapter of your story together.
So, Michael, let's start with the ring. Admittedly, I enlisted the help of my Prince Charming for suggestions on how to bring in your ring. After debating it, we came up with two tips for sneaking into the ring: first, a backpack. You could slip the ring into a smaller backpack and fill it with snacks for lunch or water bottles, so you don't raise her suspicions. Another option is to get one of those water bottles with a hidden compartment. We like to take one with us to the beach sometimes, and we thought this could be a creative way to sneak in a ring without your soon-to-be fiancé finding out.
Now let's chat about
Be Our Guest Restaurant. As one of my favorite restaurants and one of the first fancy dates Prince Charming and I went on, this place holds a special place in my heart. If you are sure you want to propose there, you can do so, but there will be some special considerations you will want to think about. First, while you can ask a Cast Member to help you capture the moment, proposing in the grand Ballroom is going to be really tricky. It is full of tables, and there isn't a ton of space where you would be able to pop the question without being in the way of Cast Members carrying trays or escorting Guests to their tables. You may feel a little rushed, so please keep that in mind.
Additionally, the lighting in Be Our Guest always makes my photos a little blurry, so I avoid taking pictures in there if I can. Since it is such a special moment, I really want to make sure it's special for you both, so I'd love to recommend some other proposal-worthy locations. First, the wishing well by
Cinderella Castle. This spot is tucked off to the right side of the Castle (if you are looking at it from Main Street, U.S.A.), and it is pretty private. You can have your girlfriend make a wish, and then when she turns around, you could be waiting on bended knee. It has the added benefit of being magical and intimate, and typically, you can find a PhotoPass photographer nearby who can capture the moment for you. If the story of Belle and her Beast is what resonates with you, try the area near
Enchanted Tales with Belle or right on the bridge to Be Our Guest. Both are really pretty and would have a nice, magical flair.
I hope this was helpful, Michael. I know how special this moment will be for you both, and no matter where you do it, I'm sure it will be the most special experience. If there is anything else I can do, please come back and see
me. I'd be happy to help you workshop proposal locations or enchanting ways to make the day even more special.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
