Welcome to planDisney, Ron. Thank you for bringing this really important question over to us. Congratulations on your upcoming engagement, I can think of no place more perfect to pop the question than
Disneyland Paris! In fact, I recently got married whilst at Walt Disney World, so I really understand how perfect a Disney Destination is in a love story!
Now, where to do it? With so many beautiful spots across the resort, the first thing to consider is whether your girlfriend would love a grand, public proposal or a more intimate moment with fewer people. It’s all possible at Disneyland Paris!
If you're thinking of a classic, big moment, proposing in front of
Sleeping Beauty Castle is an iconic choice. The hub offers plenty of space to find the perfect backdrop, but keep in mind there will be many guests around who will likely cheer you on. If you’d prefer a quieter time, consider proposing just after Disney Tales of Magic, the nighttime spectacular, which happens at park closing time every night. Since Main Street, U.S.A. remains open for one hour after the park closes, Guests do leave very quickly following the show, making the hub more peaceful, offering a more intimate proposal, with Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up in the background.
Another, more intimate, and perhaps my favourite location to do it would be outside of the parks. Fantasia Gardens acts as the gardens of the
Disneyland Hotel, between
Disneyland Park and
Disney Village. The gardens are filled with fountains, topiaries, winding walkways, and some covered gazebos. The gazebos would be a more secluded spot, with the Disneyland Hotel as a perfect backdrop. There will be guests walking by, so why not ask a fellow guest to take your picture to commemorate the moment, my family often offers to take people's photos and equally, we ask others to take photos of us, so that the whole family is in the photo.
