    I want to propose while doing the lightsaber build and I know it is a 20 minute experience and I can keep it quick but wanted to know if I could somehow coordinate with the staff to allow me to do so? And if so who should I contact?

    When you meet that perfect person who also loves Star Wars enough to spend the rest of your life exploring the galaxy with, there's really nothing like putting a ring on it during a visit to the Outer Rim over at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I recently answered a similar question from a fellow Star Wars fan looking to pop the question during a session at Savi's Workshop, and here are a few intergalactic insights I'll share with you after speaking directly to the Cast Member citizens of Batuu:

    • The experience at Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers involves some highly scripted story moments along with the actual build time. In my experience, the Gatherers leading each session really do their best to make sure everyone is completed and ready to present their newly crafted lightsabers just in time for a very special moment in the final few minutes - and you definitely wouldn't want to interrupt anyone else's experience considering the price they've paid for that 20 minutes. (They also very swiftly encourage guests to be out of the workshop and on their way ahead of the next session, so this might be a very awkward and rushed environment to choose to propose in.)
    • The Cast Members did let me know that guests have however managed to do this in the past, and recommend speaking with them directly in person at Savi's Workshop as early as possible that day to see whether this can be possible - especially if you're booking the last session of the evening with no other groups following. They also noted that this cannot be guaranteed and may be at the discretion of the Cast Members or their leadership who will let you know whether it'll be possible that day. I personally recommend eating somewhere together nearby like at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and excusing yourself to go to what we call a "refresher" on Batuu, so that you can quickly hop over and ask!
    • Looking at the Hours & Events Calendar for the week of your visit, Disney's Hollywood Studios is set to close at 9:00 P.M. while it appears that the latest sessions are scheduled for 9:05 P.M. after the park has officially closed - and hopefully you'll be able to snag a spot while they're still available. If the Cast Members let you know that it isn't possible to pop the question while you're at Savi's Workshop, you'll find that Black Spire Outpost will be significantly emptier by the time you've finished either way which can make for a very romantic time to propose. If you're really resourceful you might be able to convince your fellow builders to ignite their lightsabers outside to create the perfect glowing ambience - and perhaps film the entire moment for you!
    While there currently aren't any Engagement packages available through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team, they do have some ideas for experiences that you can book on your own that you might want to incorporate into your proposal plans!
