I want to propose at Disneyland in front of the castle just wanted to make sure if that was okay before I break any rules! Would hate to ruin a special day at the Greatest place on earth! Thanks!

Greetings, Danny, and welcome to planDisney! Golly, I can't think of a more enchanting place than Disneyland to pop the question! Let's make sure you have everything you need for this important occasion.

Danny, you can absolutely get engaged at the Disneyland Resort, and Sleeping Beauty Castle is certainly a popular place for proposals. Just know that this is a high-traffic area, so other Guests might be nearby, watching and cheering you on. Another special thing about Sleeping Beauty Castle is that it's a PhotoPass location, meaning there is a photographer who is poised and ready to take photos of Guests. You can wait in line for the PhotoPass Photographer and set your belongings aside when it's your turn. This could be a good opportunity to give a subtle heads-up that you're planning to propose, although it's fine if you don't have a chance to since they are well-versed in capturing special moments like this.

Here's a pixie-dusted tip: The Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos, so you should purchase this add-on for the day of your proposal. That way, you'll enjoy shorter waits at popular attractions and be able to save all the photos taken at PhotoPass locations throughout the day. You can explore all the PhotoPass locations on the Disneyland mobile app.

Check the Hours & Events Calendar on the morning of your visit to see if there are any times you might want to avoid. For example, the Disneyland Band and the Pearly Band typically perform a few times daily in front of the castle. Those are fun to watch, but not an ideal time to propose.

And once you’re officially engaged, remember to celebrate with a complimentary “Happily Ever After” button. These are usually found at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. Retail shops throughout the Resort may also have them.

Danny, I truly hope your plans come together as perfectly as a fairytale ending. Please reach out if you have any other questions. We at planDisney are always happy to help!

Cheers to a happily ever after,
    Kriss
