We will be on property for thanksgiving this year, trying to plan a reservation for the best thanksgiving meal. Suggestions appreciated

    Hi Julie!

Welcome back to planDisney! I am happy to help you consider dining options for Thanksgiving!

My family is also planning a visit for that week of November, so I know that your advanced dining reservation window is coming up soon! My favorite restaurant for this occasion is Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. I simply adore the colonial charm of this restaurant and the food is good as well. If you would like a more royal experience, consider Cinderella's Royal Table or Be Our Guest Restaurant. We dined at Cinderella's Royal Table on last Christmas and it was perfect!

Of course, there are several options at EPCOT including Biergarten Restaurant, a favorite among many of our panelists. We are keeping an eye on the dining updates hoping that Space 220 might open in time for our visit. Dining in outer space is a dream come true for my girls, so we cannot wait for this restaurant to open! At Disney's Animal Kingdom, our favorite dining experience is Yak & Yeti™ Restaurant. Although it might not serve what you would consider a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal, the food is delicious!

If you are looking for restaurants outside of the theme parks, also consider Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. We adore the atmosphere and food here. The entire dining experience is so relaxing after a long day at the park. And, we love to stroll along the BoardWalk after dining. It simply is beautiful. Also keep in mind all of the dining possibilities at Disney Springs. Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and The Edison are two of my favorites. And, finally, I have to recommend California Grill. The views of Magic Kingdom are simply spectacular!

Julie, I do hope you get to enjoy some of the holiday magic while there! We are looking forward to it all. Even though it might be a little different this year, the holidays at the Walt Disney World Resort always remind me to appreciate the love, laughter, and joy in the world.

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
