In the process of researching WDW vacation October 2013 with DH & DD's 2 and 5. Looking to stay near the MK but having difficulty deciding between the hotels. Can you recommend which property would be best for this age group

    Hi Rebecca!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

It is very nice to be located near to the Magic Kingdom park, especially if you have young children.  I would recommend Disney's Wilderness Lodge as my first choice.  This beautiful resort will make you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, whereas in reality you are only a short boat-ride to the Magic Kingdom, and also a boat-ride away from the other Magic Kingdom Resort hotels.  The pool and beach areas, right next to Bay Lake are stunning, and there is lots to explore around the gardens, and inside the hotel - your children are sure to love it here.  There is also a good choice of dining - especially good for young ones is the Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Roaring Fork Snack Bar.

If you particularly wanted to be situated on the monorail link to the Magic Kingdom, my second choice would be Disney's Polynesian Resort.  You can also travel to the Magic Kingdom by boat from here, and this resort is lovely with a good beach and pool area.  You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach here!

If you have any other questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan you magical vacation!
