I am in the process of planning our second trip to WDW for January of 2019. We went in 2017. The Disney planning website has automatically linked our old bands to this new trip. We would like you have new bands for this trip. How do I remove the old bands?

    Hi Christina,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

It’s great to hear you’ll be returning to Walt Disney World and that you are getting a jump on planning your next trip!

If you visit the My Disney Experience website and look at the MagicBands and Cards section, you should see a feature for “Select a MagicBand or Card to Manage Its Status.” Using this feature, you can choose to set the status of a MagicBand as either “Active” or “Inactive.”

If you are planning to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel when you return for your trip, you’ll receive a new set of  MagicBands that you can customize.

You can contact Guest Services with questions about MagicBands at (407) WDW-4357 or (407) 939-4357.

Christina, you are already off to a great trip with your planning. Make sure you stop by our Disney Parks Moms Panel with any more questions.  Also be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog to stay up-to-date on all the exciting news you’ll need to know before your trip!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
