We are in the process of planning our first WDW vacation. We really want to visit during May 2013 Star Wars Weekend. Son is 7 daughter is 5. I know that the dates have not been set but any advice or suggestions would be great. Thank you!

Hi Cheri! Star Wars Weekends are very popular at Hollywood Studios. The weekends in 2012 took place between May 18 and June 12. Although the specific dates have not been announced for 2013 I can only suggest you use the 2012 dates as a guide when booking your vacation. If you are able to stretch the vacation to include two weekends that is the optimum for Star Wars Fans.

There will be special guests, characters, and autograph sessions. Many of these will use the Fast Pass system which allows guests to not be in lines forever for the special events. The parades are amazing and fun and many guests felt the Hyperspace Hoopla was their absolute favorite.  Hopefully they will bring back the Droid Factory and the Carbon Freeze Me Experience as well.

Book a reservation that is in the same timeframe and then wait for the big announcements on what 2013 will bring to the Star Wars Weekend.  Remember you can always book for a longer time frame then you will be able to use as you are only required to put a one nights deposit down.  When you know the dates of the Weekend you can alter your existing reservation to fit your needs. It is often easier to delete days then to try to add due to resorts booking up quickly.
