Hi, I am in the process of planning our 1st DW vacation. We plan on going in 2013. We would like to go during the 'value' season. What dates would you recommend? Also, if you are not staying in a DW resort, can you use the shuttle and tour the resorts?

    Hi Gina,

Value season is generally considered to be January and the first half of February as well as August and September.

My family have visited Walt Disney World during the last week of September / first week of October on more than one occasion and I have to say that this is our favourite time of year to visit as the crowds are generally low and the weather is usually lovely and warm.

The parks do tend to close earlier than during peak months but for us travelling with my now 9-year old Son find that this suits us perfectly as he is usually getting tired by closing time after being on the go since park opening.

You can absolutely use Disney's complimentary buses, boats and monorails even if you will not be staying at a Disney Resort hotel. Likewise, you are more than welcome to visit any of the Disney Resort hotels for a look around. My family love to do this as it helps us to decide where we might like to stay during future stays.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
