Hi, Karen!
This is a great question!
We've stayed at both Port Orleans as well as Saratoga Springs, so I can understand your being torn between these two properties. They are both gorgeous.
Each property has some really neat features, so I'll try to highlight them both.
Disney's Port Orleans-French Quarter is a lovely resort with horse-drawn carriage rides and the ambiance of the French Quarter, in addition to a great main pool area, Doubloon Lagoon (kids love the slide!) Guests staying here can even get to Downtown Disney by a very leisurely boat ride, in addition to Resort Bus transportation.
Over at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Guests can enjoy the beautiful lakeside ambiance along with a truly spectacular main pool, High Rock Spring Pool. This resort is located directly across Village Lake from Downtown Disney, so some areas (i.e. Congress Park) offer Guests the ability to walk over to DD, while others are a convenient boat or Resort Bus ride over to that great shopping, dining and entertainment area.
If you haven't yet looked at the Treehouse Villas at SS, you really should do so. We've stayed there several times, each time with another family and simply fell in love with them. These villas sleep 9, have three bedrooms, a sleeper sofa and sleeper chair in the living area, a full kitchen and a washer / dryer in your room. Two full baths complete this cozy yet spacious home-away-from-home, and the living area plus separate bedrooms give the kids a place to play without having to worry about waking the neighbors downstairs...there are none! :-)
Send more questions as you consider your options. We love to help!
