Hey howdy hey, Heather! You’ve got a friend in me at
planDisney!
I understand just how overwhelming it can feel to plan a
Disneyland Resort vacation! Here at planDisney, we’re happy to help answer your planning questions through every step of the process. So, let’s get started!
First, it looks like you already have your arrival date set, so that’s one step down. Do you have a hotel picked out yet? If you’re planning to book a hotel and theme-park tickets, you may want to consider purchasing a
Disneyland Resort Hotel Vacation Package, or a
Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package. These helpful packages will take the guesswork out of the planning process, and will help guide you as you plan!
Depending on your needs, you can choose to stay at a
Disneyland Resort Hotel or a
Good Neighbor Hotel. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the closest hotel to the theme parks, and even has an exclusive entrance into Disney California Adventure Park! The Disneyland Hotel, full of classic Disney nostalgia, is just a short walk away from the theme parks, and is adjacent to the Disneyland Monorail for a speedy ride into Disneyland Park. Last but not least, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is just past the Disneyland Hotel, and offers great views of Disney California Adventure Park. The Good Neighbor Hotels are also a great alternative, and many are located within walking distance of the Disneyland Resort, too.
When you’re ready to book your
theme-park tickets, you can choose between a One Park Per Day ticket, or a Park Hopper ticket. With a Park Hopper ticket, you’ll have the chance to “hop” to the other park after 1:00 PM. If you have a One Park Per Day ticket, then you'll be selecting one theme park and remaining there the entire day. When you purchase tickets, you’ll also need to book your
theme-park reservations.
Once your tickets and hotel are set, it’s time to think about the best part of the trip… eating!
Dining reservations tend to book quickly, so you may need to continue checking the website in case new reservations open up as your trip gets closer.
Now for my favorite handy helper… the
Disneyland app! I recommend downloading this tool before your visit to help you navigate your magical vacation. If you don’t already have one, you’ll need to create a
Disney account so that you can link your tickets to your app. You can also use the app to make dining reservations, check wait times,
mobile order food and drinks, and use the new
Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services!
I hope this information helps take some stress out of the planning process, Heather! Please stop by with any additional questions… I’m all EARs!
