Susan from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello, I am in the process of buying tickets for my 6 year old so and myself. My son is non verbal autistic and doesn't do well waiting in long lines. Are there any accommodations for children who have autism spectrum disorder?

Greetings, Susan and a warm welcome to planDisney, we thank you kindly for consulting us today!

Susan, as a fellow mom of an autistic son, I feel that I can understand your predicament and rest assured, in efforts to accommodate all Guests and afford them an enjoyable and inclusive visit, you will find that the Disneyland Resort Services for Guests with Disabilities a very helpful resource in planning for your upcoming visit.

Please refer to Disneyland Resort's Disability Access Service which will afford your son alternative choices when waiting for DAS Return Times. We use this time for our son to rest, give him a snack or meal, toilet him and just about anything else while we wait for our DAS Return Time at a selected attraction. You will be able to pre-register for the DAS Advance online via a virtual chat from 2 days up to 30 days before your arrival, or if you wish, you can register your son in person at any Guest Relations inside either of the two Disneyland Resort theme parks. Please make sure that your son is available for the registration either online through the DAS Advance or in-person during your arrival as a quick photo will be taken - don't worry, it's very informal and quick and the Cast Members are so helpful and friendly. As well, it would be helpful if you link your and anyone else's theme park tickets to your Disney account who is travelling with you, this way they will be included in your travel party. The great aspect of the DAS Advance is that you will be able to select, in consultation with a Cast Member, two DAS Return Times for each day of your valid theme park admission in advance of your arrival.

Once registered, you or anyone on your DAS Guestlist will be able to self-select a DAS Return Time using the Disneyland Mobile App, or in-person at an attraction entrance, or at a Guest Experience Team kiosk near attractions and experiences inside the theme parks, but the registered Guest, your son, must be present when redeeming the DAS Return Time at an attraction or experience entrance.

    Please note:
All Guests are required to secure a Disneyland Resort - Theme Park Reservation for each day of their valid theme park admission.

    Tips:
Consider adding the Disney Genie+ service theme park ticket option during your theme park ticket purchase, or as soon as you enter a theme park by using the Disneyland Mobile App. This option will save you time waiting in lines for attractions that offer the Lightning Lane entrance. It's a good idea to update the Payment Method in the app via My Profile to facilitate app transactions. Plus, you'll enjoy unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass attraction photos including Magic Shots from your day!

Enjoy the convenience of Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering via the Disneyland Mobile App during your visit to avoid waiting in lengthy lines.

Susan, I wish you the happiest visit to Disneyland Resort, please feel free to stop by planDisney with any other questions!
