Hello, Judith! Welcome back to planDisney. It's lovely to see you here.
If you have purchased
ground transfers from
Port Canaveral to a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, the process of disembarking is easy. I'd be happy to walk you through it. On the final morning of your cruise, you will be invited to enjoy one last breakfast onboard. Your dining time and place will correspond with your dinner seating time and your restaurant rotation. Guest with main dining will enjoy breakfast earlier in the morning, in the same restaurant where they had dinner the evening before. Those with the second dinner seating will be invited to breakfast later in the morning. You will be encouraged to take any carry-on luggage with you to breakfast and asked to disembark directly after breakfast, once your group has been called.
You will be given luggage tags with a character and color for the disembarkation process. When your character group has been called, you will be invited to exit the ship to the Port Terminal. You will enter the terminal, claim any luggage that you sent away the previous night to be taken off of the ship for you, and visit Customs as you exit the building. From there, you will find clearly marked signs (and plenty of people working at the port to help) directing you to the buses that will be ready and waiting to transport guests from the port to their Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.
The buses typically share a route between two to three nearby hotels. They begin leaving the port at 9:00 a.m. and will continue running as needed to transport all of the guests to the next destination on their vacation. It's always a good idea to visit Walt Disney World after saying goodbye to Captain Minnie and Captain Mickey.
It's hard for me to leave a Disney Cruise ship behind, but I like to make the parting a little easier by booking a placeholder cruise using the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app while I'm on the ship. That way, I can sail again at a discount (for most stateroom categories and itineraries) within the next two years.
If you have any further questions about your upcoming vacation, please cruise back to us at planDisney. My pals and I would love to help.
Happy Sailing!
