Hey there Sam,
Thanks for your question and welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you stopped by.
The answer to your question certainly has a lot of variabilities, but ultimately I think it would mostly depend on your phone.
From my experience, especially over the last few years, and others I've heard from who have visited the parks, the
Disneyland Resort wi-fi works great! Personally, I have not run into any issues or hit and "dead zones" when using the wi-fi, but it's been fast and reliable.
However, if you're using your own personal cell phone carrier's service, it's certainly possible that there might be coverage issues depending again on your carrier and/or cell phone make, model and age. If you experienced issues while visiting and were not using the on-resort wi-fi then I'd recommend following up with your carrier to get more information on this one.
There are so many helpful tools to help make a smooth vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth specifically through the
Disneyland Resort mobile app. You can see a map, and
entertainment schedule, place a
mobile food & beverage order, and so much more!
One thing I would highly recommend is considering some kind of mobile cell phone charging option. If you don't have your own, there are
portable phone charging systems kiosks in multiple locations around the resort that work great and will help you keep your phone charged throughout your visit.
I hope that's helpful, Sam! Thanks again for your question. Make sure to stop by planDisney again when planning your next visit to the Disneyland Resort - we'd love to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
