Probably a stupid quest, but its been 10 years since i have been to DW. we are going to the Parks on Dec. 26-Jan2, with the 30 going to Universal for the day. We have park hoppers, and will use them, is this wise, and what parks are connected via montarail

    Hi Jason,

Walt Disney World has had a lot of changes over the last 10 years, so don't fear about your question.  In fact, if you have a bunch more, we are more than happy to help you out.

The monorail has several different routes.  First, there is an express monorail that runs from the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) to the Magic Kingdom and returns back to the TTC.  A second monorail route follows the same route, but this one stops at the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort, TTC, Polynesian Resort, and Grand Floridian Resort. There is a third monorail route that goes from the TTC to Epcot and back to the TTC.  When you are trying to visit Epcot from the Magic Kingdom (or vice versa), you simply need to transfer monorails at the TTC; signs will indicate where you need to go.

We always prefer having the park hopper option because we like knowing we have the option of visiting another park on a whim.  However, other guests are quite content staying in one place, especially with the crowds that will likely be there during your visit. Since you've purchased them already, I'd see them as a bonus back-up plan.  By the way, the Magic Kingdom is the park most likely to reach capacity.  If you haven't purchased that option yet, since it can be added on after you visit, maybe you'd like to wait and see how your first day goes and if it looks like you'll actually use it.

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel. Again, we are more than happy to help if you have more questions!
