This is probably an odd question, but what are some of your favorite things to buy when shopping at WDW? Any fun or unique items?

    Hi Lacy:

This is a wonderful question.  My favorite thing to buy (and browse through) when shopping at Disney World is art.  Every trip, we stop by Art of Disney to check out the rotating unique or limited edition artwork.  The artwork is fairly expensive for a souvenir, so we only have two pieces (including a favorite Hipster Mickey piece by Jerrod Maruyama), but there are also less expensive art options including prints and posters.

For less expensive, but still fun, ideas, you'll find autograph books, keychains, pens, pencils, antenna toppers, Disney-themed candy and character figurines for a few dollars.  Walt Disney World luggage tags cost about $5.00.  You can also collect unique pins and Vinylmations as well.  Pressed coins are also another idea, costing only 51 cents for a penny or $1.25 for a quarter.  You'll fine unique coin pressing machines in unexpected places throughout Disney property.

One of my favorite Disney souvenirs is a Boba Fett (Star Wars) iPhone protector I picked up at World of Disney at Downtown Disney.  I wasn't looking for the phone protector, but bought it as soon as I saw it.  Sometimes you'll find the right item when you least expect it, just walking around the shops.

I would browse around the Disney Store online to get a sense of what else may be available.  When you get to Disney World, make a stop at Downtown Disney for a variety of shopping options.

    Enjoy your vacation.
