Is there a way to have a private photo shoot done in the MK & Mickey & Minnie (a la weddings) for a 50th birthday? My 50th birthday trip will be in Feb 2021 and we are staying at The GF. Thank you :)

    Hi Kathryn,

Happy almost-Birthday!  I recently celebrated my 50th at Walt Disney World Resort with my husband and it remains one of my favorite experiences to date.  Be sure to stop by Guest Relations at any theme park or at your Disney Resort Hotel and pick up a special "Happy Birthday" button to wear each day so that everyone knows you are celebrating your special occasion.

At the time of this writing, Disney Fine Art Photography is temporarily closed and the date of return of this service is unknown.  However Disney PhotoPass Service is still operating at all of the theme parks!  Many of the PhotoPass locations offer an exclusive "Magic Shot" which adds a little extra Pixie Dust to your photo, so be sure and ask about those.  In some instances a character is Magically added to your photo.  Additionally, certain PhotoPass locations have the new "Tiny World Magic Shot" and the "Super Zoom Magic Shot" which really bring home the sense of it's a small world after all.  I recommend pre-ordering Memory Maker at a discounted rate so that you can download all your photos (including attraction videos/photos) for one price.

Due to the current safety guidelines for physical distancing, the traditional character meet and greets are not occurring at the Walt Disney World Resort at this time.  However there are some opportunities to see our pals Mickey and Minnie in a fun new way.  One opportunity is breakfast a la carte with Mickey & Friends at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera.  In this location Mickey, Minnie and friends parade through the restaurant in their fine European inspired outfits.  Combine this amazing view with the Topolino's Terrace Menu and you have my vote for favorite birthday breakfast! Although you aren't able to stand close to the characters, you are still able to snap photos as they pass through and pose for Guests.  I've even seen some super cute photos of Guests taking "selfie style" photos with the characters in the background.

Another location where you can take physically distanced photos "with" your beloved characters is the character meal at Chef Mickey's which will resume service on December 16, 2020 at Disney's Contemporary Resort hotel.  Over at EPCOT, the Garden Grill Restaurant offers Chip 'n' Dale's Harvest Feast where you can dine on farm fresh food in a rotating restaurant above Living With The Land attraction and also provides a unique opportunity to have a meal with frolicking characters in the background. And one final character meal opportunity is located at Disney's Hollywood Studios where you are able to enjoy a sit down meal at Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine.

Have a Magical vacation and please let us know if we can answer any further questions!
